Materias announced the entry of Multiversity into its share capital. Andrea Buonomo, Chief Operating Officer of Multiversity, joined the Board of Directors as the group’s representative.

Caterina Meglio, CEO of Materias, attended the Fondazione Guido Carli conference at the Chamber of Deputies together with Sergio Dompé, Chairman of Dompé, focused on sustainable futures.

Aniello Cammarano, COO of Materias and co-founder of Sanidrink, spoke in Salerno about Materias’ role as a venture builder and presented Sanidrink as an example of research valorization.

Maria Emilia Mercurio, Innovation Manager at Materias and co-founder of AMPure, took part in one-to-one meetings in Beijing during the China–Italy Week, focused on networking and new business opportunities. Anna Maria Bernini, Minister of University and Research, and Zhang Guangjun, Vice Minister, also attended.

At the Federico II campus in Naples, Materias and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center hosted a focus event on bioplastics. Speakers included Luigi Ruggerone of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Aniello Cammarano, COO of Materias, Laura Ascione, Project Manager at Materias, Valentina Battista, Institutional Relations Manager at Materias, and other report contributors, including John Davies of Frost & Sullivan.

Aniello Cammarano, COO of Materias, presented the Materias Award to Marco Di Maio of Krill Design for the ReKrill technology. Maria Emilia Mercurio, Technology & Innovation Manager at Materias, served on the jury.

Rosalba Moretta, researcher at Sanidrink, accepted the Associazione DONNE 4.0 Award for female empowerment on behalf of Sanidrink. Aniello Cammarano, COO of Materias, and Emilia Renzi, researcher at Sanidrink, were also present.

Sanidrink was featured in Il Denaro’s Speciale Capri, with a focus on the new laboratories at Ferrarelle in Riardo and on the startup’s development.

Materias became a partner of the second-level MABIOMED Master’s program run by the University of Bologna and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, contributing on innovation, entrepreneurship and technology transfer topics.

A consortium company was established by Federico II University, Materias and RurAll to develop innovations for the digitalization of the agri-food system. The deed was signed by Pres. Luigi Nicolais, Matteo Lorito, Rector of Federico II University, and Giorgio Genocchi, CEO of RurAll.

Pres. Luigi Nicolais spoke at the Cotec Europa Symposium on sustainable finance at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, in the presence of Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, Felipe VI, King of Spain, and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal. Caterina Meglio, CEO of Materias, Aniello Cammarano, COO of Materias, Valentina Battista, Institutional Relations Manager at Materias, and Martina Martone, Executive Assistant at Materias, also attended.

Fabrizio Errichiello, R&D Engineer and Research PM at Materias, attended JEC Forum Italy in Bologna as a member of the Startup Booster jury.

AMPure took part in Cosmofarma Exhibition in Bologna, showcasing its anti-acne dermocosmetic line. Attendees included Valentina Battista, Institutional Relations, Communication & ESG Manager at Materias, Maria Emilia Mercurio, co-founder and Board Member of AMPure, and Bruna Agrillo, researcher at AMPure.

The startups Sanidrink and AMPure received the America Innovazione 2023 Award at the Chamber of Deputies. Rosalba Moretta, researcher at Sanidrink, and Tatiana Guzzo, Business Development Manager at C4T, collected the award; Nunzia Cummaro, Senior Researcher at Materias and Board Member of Sanidrink, was also present.

Materias took part in SMAU London with Etesias. A delegation including Valentina Battista, Institutional Relations, Communication & ESG Manager at Materias, and Flavio Galdi, Program Manager of Etesias, attended.

Pres. Luigi Nicolais took part in the Italian Innovation and Research Day at GITA Tech Park in Tbilisi together with Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of the Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency. Also attending were Enrico Valvo, Italian Ambassador to Georgia, Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Nino Enukidze, Rector of the Business and Technology University of Georgia.

The international conference “Emerging Technologies in Transdermal Drug Delivery” opened in Naples, organized by Materias with ISASI-CNR and Magna Graecia University. Pres. Luigi Nicolais and Conor O’Mahony, researcher at Tyndall National Institute and professor at Chongqing Technology and Business University, spoke, while Valentina Battista moderated the opening day.

Materias, as a member, took part in the presentation of the Cotec 2022 Report in Rome, focused on skills and human capital as drivers of growth and innovation.
