Caterina Meglio, CEO of Materias, received the “Nostalgia di Futuro - Donna è Innovazione 2021” award in Rome, promoted by Media Duemila/Osservatorio TuttiMedia. In her remarks, she dedicated the award to the Materias team, largely made up of highly qualified women.

Pres. Luigi Nicolais, Caterina Meglio, CEO of Materias, and Aniello Cammarano, Chief Innovation Officer of Materias, met in Turin with Maurizio Montagnese, Chairman of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, together with Filippo Vecchio, Luigi Ruggerone, Alessandro Balboni and Luca Pagetti, to define shared strategies on innovation and sustainability.

Materias presented its award to Mixcycling Srl, a startup founded by Gianni Tagliapietra, co-founder and CEO, for a technology that transforms industrial waste into new materials using bioplastics. Caterina Meglio, CEO of Materias, also took part in the event.

Materias hosted the “From Research to Business” event in Naples, focused on bridging the gap between scientific research and the market. Pres. Luigi Nicolais, Caterina Meglio, CEO of Materias, and representatives from research, pharma, finance and academia took part.

Materias launched a partnership with Roncucci&Partners to provide specialist services to startups and innovative SMEs, supporting them from technology development through scale-up and market entry.

Materias's family gets bigger and bigger. With the entry of Intesa Sanpaolo, the mission of creating bridges between research and the market, doing business in a sustainable way, becomes even more challenging.

The second startup of Materias is born, with Ing. Aniello Cammarano as president and Dr. Nunzia Cummaro as CSO, who will develop a technology for the functionalization of tubular ducts with antimicrobial peptides for applications in the food and biomedical sectors.
