Micro and nanomicrometric powders as medical device for wound management: in situ forming soft gel dressing able to sustain drug delivery to wounds

A medical device for rapid and easy-to-use wound management in form of dry submicrometric powders able to form in situ a soft gel dressing when in contact with exudates. The powder is based on natural biopolymers blend, made by spray drying technology and loaded with active ingredients (i.e. antibiotics, NSAID, growth factors and healing peptides).

Flame synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles for antimicrobial applications

Biodegradable superabsorbent polymer hydrogels for application in agriculture

An innovative process to obtain superabsorbent biodegradable polymer hydrogels has been developed. The water absorption capacity of hydrogel particles has been improved by increasing their porosity by drying the particles in supercritical CO2 (scCO2). Resulting hydrogels are advanced materials with unique swelling capacity to improving the physical properties of soil (water use efficiency, soil permeability and infiltration rates) and increasing plant performance especially in areas subject to drought.
